I’m still making money from traffic and domains so ill not be giving up anytime soon. I’m not near my target income yet per month. I’m still building up the residual income and I hope to be able to reach it within six months.

I’ve had quite a bit of interest in my domain portfolio, but no sales this month.

Chris Anderson has recently been talking about the closedness of the web. He states that the web is dead and that we are moving to a closed net…and what that means that we spend more time on sites such as social networks and less time grazing around. Could these social networks be the hubs or portals of the future? Could AOLs old garden wall type model fence in customers and buyers?

Well, we are domainers, we buy and sell bits of information real estate. This idea of a closed web is not good, we like people being able to roam free from place to place with ease. Does Anderson forsee a maze of interlocking applications with limited chance of escape? Is this really the future?

I cannot predict the future, but trapping users unless they want it is not good. Interoperability is key, so right now, much of the data on social networks cannot be exported, this is not good news, yes it makes for a sticky site, but will ensure that some people never invest in socialnetworks because its not transferable. One social network company that prides itself on exportability and transferability is SocialGO. You can export your network and importantly, you own it. One thing is for sure when products become closed, people want open products. Social networks are no different.

So if I am worth this to Facebook, what can I expect from them in return? Other than the service, this figure means that FB must make money from you and one way is advertising.
